Each family is required to volunteer four hours of time that will benefit Becker Youth Baseball. Each family must submit a volunteer check for $125. This check will be destroyed at the end of the season if four hours of volunteer time has been fulfilled. The check will be cashed if the family does not fulfill the four hours of volunteer time. Each family also has the option to opt out of volunteering by paying an additional $50 while registering for a program.
Importance of Volunteering
Each year the Becker Youth Baseball program coaches, encourages and develops over 400 kids to become better at the game of baseball. We would like to thank all of our Parent coaches over the years for their hard work and dedication to developing our kids and the program. We want to continue to provide a safe and competitive environment for our kids, which would require some equipment upgrades and some minor field renovation at the BAC. So in an effort to keep our registration costs down, the board has decided to put in place a volunteer program.
2016 Season - BYBA will ask each player/family to be responsible for 4 hours of volunteer service. This is per family, so multiple youth families will only be required for 4 hours of volunteering. The Jr. Ball program is exempt from the volunteer program
There will be 2 volunteer fee options:
$125.00 - Check will be returned or destroyed after completing their assigned service.
$50.00 - Parents/Family can select this opt-out option. The $50.00 is a nonrefundable fee for those who feel they will be unable to volunteer during the season.
Areas for volunteering include:
- Field maintenance
- BAC Spring/Fall clean-up day
- Working baseball tournaments
- BYSA Meat Raffles
- Clear Lake Lions Events
Volunteer hours must be completed by the end of the 2017 baseball season. Each head coach, assistant coach, and team manager will receive volunteer time. Each team is allowed a head coach, an assistant coach, and a team manager.
